An amber-style ale fermented in charred American oak barrels.
Su Legno Primo (first) is the first beer we tinkered with. Experimenting with what would work as beer entirely fermented in oak barrels. We honed our process entirely on the back of this beer and made many iterations before deciding that 6% was the perfect ABV for barrel fermented ales, providing body to support the oak without alcohol warming.  Ale, crystal and roast malts were combined in different percentages over many recipes until landing on what we think is the perfect combination, that  works with the charred American Oak without being too rich or intensely malty.  We discovered that crystal and darker base malts mix well with our process and our barrels!
